About us
A proud heritage in every glass.
The Welch's story dates back to 1869 when Dr. Thomas Bramwell Welch, a dentist from Glastonbury who emigrated to the US, created a non-alcoholic altar wine for his fellow church parishioners in New Jersey.
Since then generations of families have enjoyed the exceptional taste, quality and nutritional benefits of Welch's purple and white grape products and the company has gone from strength-to-strength. Welch’s products now range from juice and jelly to other fruit-based offerings, and can be found on the shelves of supermarkets in over 50 countries.
At the heart of the Welch's success story is our family-farmer-owners. As part of the National Grape Cooperative Association, Welch's growers share a commitment to the highest standards and carefully grow Concord and Niagara grapes of distinctive quality. We are passionate about grapes and are proud of our reputation for both quality and goodness.
